Success was an ambitious platform for contemporary art. It transformed the abandoned basement of a department store into a cavernous multi-gallery exhibition venue. Based in the historic city centre of Fremantle, Western Australia, the gallery presented cutting-edge visual art and performance from international and Australian artists.
Success was founded in 2015 by Guy Louden, Dan McCabe, Emma Buswell, Lyndon Blue, and Dale Buckley. It presented more that 25 exhibitions and events and over 90 artists throughout 2016. At 2,800m2 it was Australia’s largest artist-run gallery. It was supported by the City of Fremantle, the Australia Council for the Arts, and the Department of Culture and the Arts.
